Stylist Insight from Wendy's Bridal Columbus
Your wedding dress is one of the most important purchases you'll ever make, and we believe you deserve our full attention. When you book an appointment, your stylist prepares for your visit by learning about your wedding, style preferences, and budget before you even step into the fitting room. During your appointment, you'll have one-on-one guidance as you explore nearly 500 designer wedding dresses. Your stylist will pull gowns based on your feedback, answer your questions, and help you compare silhouettes, fabrics, and designers until you find the one. While we always welcome walk-ins when our schedule allows, making an appointment ensures we can provide the personalized experience every bride deserves.

Unlike traditional retail shopping, finding a wedding dress is a guided experience. Rather than browsing endless racks on your own, you'll work with a stylist who gets to know your vision, listens to your feedback, and helps narrow hundreds of gowns into the styles that are most likely to become your favorite. At Wendy's Bridal Columbus, your appointment includes a private fitting area and a stylist whose focus is entirely on you. As you try on dresses, your stylist continues refining selections based on what you love—and just as importantly, what you don't. This personalized approach makes the process more enjoyable, less overwhelming, and often much more successful than shopping alone.

Most brides try on far fewer dresses than they expect because their stylist quickly learns what makes them feel their best.

Finding your wedding dress isn't something that should feel hurried. During your appointment, you'll have time to talk with your stylist, browse inspiration, try on several gowns, and narrow your favorites until you discover the dress that feels right. If you return to say "yes" after taking time to think about your decision, our return appointments are designed to help you confidently make your final choice while focusing on your favorite gowns. See our Appointments Page (link) for more information. Every appointment is intentionally structured to give you enough time to enjoy the process while making thoughtful decisions.

Bring nude undergarments, inspiration photos, the people whose opinions matter most, and an open mind. That's really all you need.
Stylist Insight from Wendy's Bridal Columbus
You don't need to arrive with everything figured out. In fact, many brides aren't completely sure what style they're looking for—and that's perfectly okay. Photos you've saved on Pinterest or Instagram can help your stylist understand your vision, but don't be surprised if you fall in love with something completely different. We encourage brides to keep an open mind because some of the most memorable "yes" moments happen in gowns they never expected to try. Most importantly, bring the people who will encourage and support you throughout the experience. A smaller group often leads to a more relaxed appointment and makes it easier to focus on how you feel in each dress.
Did You Know?
Many brides say "yes" to a gown that wasn't on their inspiration board because seeing a dress in person is very different from seeing it online.

Wear comfortable clothing and nude, seamless undergarments if possible. Don't worry about bringing wedding shoes or special shapewear unless you already own them.
Stylist Insight from Wendy's Bridal Columbus
One of the biggest misconceptions is that you need to arrive perfectly prepared with every wedding accessory. The truth is, your appointment is about discovering what you love—not recreating your wedding day. Many bridal gowns have built-in support, so you may not wear a bra while trying on dresses. Shapewear is completely optional, and comfortable nude underwear is often all you need. Your stylist will clip sample gowns to help you visualize the fit, and once you've found your dress, our experienced in-house alterations team will tailor it specifically to your body. That means you don't need to stress about achieving the perfect fit during your first appointment.
Did You Know?
Professional alterations—not shapewear—are what create the beautiful, custom fit you see on your wedding day.

Choosing your wedding dress is a special moment, and the people you bring can have a big impact on your experience. While it can be tempting to invite everyone, too many opinions can quickly become overwhelming. We often find that brides have the most enjoyable appointments when they bring a few trusted family members or friends who know their style and will offer honest, encouraging feedback. At Wendy's Bridal Columbus, guest limits vary depending on the type of appointment and the day of your visit. If you're planning to bring a larger group, simply let us know when scheduling so we can recommend the best appointment option. See our Appointments Page (link) for more information on our guest counts and appointment types.

Children are always welcome, but because bridal appointments last about 90 minutes and sample gowns require extra care, we generally recommend arranging childcare whenever possible.
Stylist Insight from Wendy's Bridal Columbus
Wedding dress shopping is an exciting experience, and we want every bride to enjoy it without distractions. Our boutique is filled with delicate gowns, long trains, and accessories that deserve careful handling. Younger children can naturally become restless during a bridal appointment, making it harder for the bride to relax and fully enjoy the experience. If childcare isn't possible, don't worry—we completely understand. We simply ask that an adult other than the bride be available to supervise young children during the appointment so everyone can focus on celebrating this special milestone.

Brides often tell us they enjoy the experience even more when they're able to focus entirely on finding their dream dress.

It's amazing how differently a dress can look in photos compared to the fitting room mirror. Taking pictures allows you to revisit your favorite gowns after your appointment and often helps you notice little details you may have missed in the moment. If someone important can't attend your appointment, photos and videos are also a wonderful way to include them in your decision. Your stylist is always happy to help position trains, veils, and accessories so your photos capture the complete bridal look.

Your first appointment is all about getting to know you, exploring different styles, and finding the wedding dress that makes you feel like the very best version of yourself.
Stylist Insight from Wendy's Bridal Columbus
When you arrive, your stylist will spend time learning about your wedding, your vision, your budget, and the styles you've been dreaming about. From there, you'll begin trying on carefully selected gowns while your stylist uses your feedback to guide each new choice. Sometimes brides fall in love with the very first dress they try on. Other times, discovering what you don't like is just as valuable because it helps narrow the search. Every gown teaches us something about your style. Our goal isn't to have you try on as many dresses as possible. It's to help you find the right one while making the experience fun, relaxed, and memorable. Whether you say "yes" during your first visit or decide to take some time to think about your favorites, we'll be here to support you every step of the way.
Did You Know?
Many brides leave their first appointment with a much clearer understanding of their personal style—even if it's completely different from what they expected before they arrived.
